Tragic Road Accident Near Mariamabad Claims Three Lives, Including 16-Year-Old Danish Masih

A tragic road accident near Mariamabad claimed the lives of three young men, including 16-year-old Danish Masih. The accident took place on Sangla Road when four young men from Village 468 in Samundri were traveling on motorcycles to attend the annual Mariamabad festival. At around 5 PM, their motorcycles collided with each other and then crashed into a vehicle and an ambulance near Marh Balochan Road. Two of the victims suffered severe head injuries, while the others were critically injured.

Danish Masih, the youngest of five brothers and two sisters, succumbed to his injuries on September 7, 2024, the day of his funeral, which was held in his home village. His younger brother, Kiran, who also sustained serious injuries, is still undergoing treatment. Two other young men involved, brothers from Faisalabad, also tragically lost their lives in the accident.

Witnesses reported that the ambulance involved failed to stop due to brake failure, causing further injuries to bystanders. Despite the ambulance transporting victims to a hospital in Kamoke, Danish's condition deteriorated, and he was transferred to a larger hospital in Lahore, where he later passed away.

The accident has shocked the local Christian community, turning a joyful event into a time of mourning. Calls have been made for a thorough investigation into the negligence of the ambulance driver and for better enforcement of road safety measures to prevent future tragedies. The families of the victims are seeking justice and hope that stricter regulations will be put in place.
