Faisalabad, September 17 - A significant development unfolded in Faisalabad as a delegation from the International Minority Rights Foundation (IMRF), led by its Chairman, Mr. Samuel Piyara, engaged in a crucial meeting with Dr. Abid, the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Faisalabad. The meeting, held in Dr. Abid's office, was marked by the presence of  Dr. Rizwan, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations, and was convened in response to the directives issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. These directives were in connection with a petition filed by IMRF regarding the unfortunate Jaranwala incident.

At the heart of this high-level meeting were comprehensive discussions surrounding the reports generated by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which were commissioned to investigate the tragic events of the Jaranwala attack that occurred on August 16th.

The Jaranwala incident had raised considerable concerns and garnered widespread attention due to its impact on minority communities. In response to these concerns, IMRF had taken the initiative to petition the Supreme Court of Pakistan, seeking justice and accountability for the victims affected by the incident.

During the meeting, Mr. Piyara, the Chairman of IMRF, emphasized the organization's commitment to upholding minority rights and ensuring that incidents of violence and discrimination against minority communities are thoroughly investigated and addressed. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the local authorities in Faisalabad to discuss the findings of the JIT reports.

Mr. Dr. Abid, the RPO of Faisalabad, acknowledged the significance of the Supreme Court's directives and assured the IMRF delegation of his commitment to a transparent and impartial investigation process.
