Hindu temple vandalised in Pakistan


A Hindu temple in Karachi, Pakistan has been destroyed, and the alleged culprit has been arrested. 

The incident took at Narayan Mandir located in the old city of Narayanpura in Karachi.

According to reports, Mohammad Waleed Shabbir has been arrested for vandalising the idols of deities.
 
A Hindu man, Mukesh Kumar was praying with his wife at the Narayan temple when he saw the man allegedly destroying the idols with a hammer.

An eyewitness said the angry Hindu community members caught the man and handed him over to the police. 

The Hindu residents of the area protested outside the police station, calling for the government to provide protection to the Hindus.
 
The majority of the residents in the area are from poor and low-income Hindu families. 

The police are investigating the incident and videos of the broken holy idols have gone viral on social media. 

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s National Assembly member Khial Das Kohistani condemned the incident, saying no religion allows such acts. 

In the last year, there have also been other incidents of vandalism in Hindu temples across the country. .
 
Hindus are the largest minority community in Pakistan, with an estimated 7.5 million living in the country.
