Special police force created for the protection of minorities


A special police force has been created for the protection of minorities and their places of worship.

The force will be introduced in all provinces and the Centre Dr Shoaib Suddle, chairman of the One-Man Commission on Minorities has said.

Provincial police chiefs have also been issued with instructions to set up a monitoring system to check forceful conversions among the minorities.

The commission has also directed all governments to fill the almost 30,000 posts reserved for minorities in all the government departments all over Pakistan except for Balochistan.

According to reports directions have also been given to federal and provincial governments to ensure the enforcement of relevant policy directives regarding the reservation of quota for minorities in Pakistan.
