Pakistan’s National Assembly adopts resolution for teaching Holy Quran with translation in universities


The Pakistani National Assembly has passed an unanimous resolution recommending the Federal government make arrangements for teaching the Holy Quran along with translation, compulsory in educational institutions it owns and controls. 

The states that according to the Constitution, the official name of the country is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan while the Holy Quran and the Sunnah would be considered as the supreme law.

Minister Ali Muhammad said the understanding of the Holy Quran in Urdu would enable students to have a better understanding of the holy book
